About Scott
Scott McMahan earned his law degree from Emory University School of Law in 2014 after completing a bachelor’s degree at American InterContinental University in 2005. He spent his law school summers gaining exposure to private practice, working as a summer associate at Eimer Stahl LLP in 2012 and later clerking at Dickenson Gilroy LLC in 2013. Those experiences gave him an early sense of courtroom procedure and client work before he entered practice full time.
His first post-graduate role was outside traditional law practice. In 2006 he joined Calvert Investments as an associate research analyst, a position that involved analytical work and attention to regulatory detail. He returned to a legal trajectory after law school and, by 2015, he was listed as a trial lawyer at Poole Huffman, LLC. That move marked the start of his public record as a courtroom practitioner in Georgia.
McMahan is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. He maintains active ties to the state legal community and practices under Georgia jurisdiction. His record includes both courtroom appearances and the work that happens before cases reach trial: filings, hearings and client consultations. The pattern of his early career—summer positions at law firms followed by trial practice—reflects steady progression from academic training to hands-on litigation.
Colleagues and court records show McMahan concentrating his professional time at Poole Huffman, LLC since 2015. He participates in the firm’s trial roster and is involved in preparing matters for trial. Public records list him among the lawyers representing clients in Georgia courts, and his practice has been built around litigation roles rather than transactional or corporate counsel tracks.
Outside the courtroom, McMahan’s background in research from his time at Calvert Investments adds a data-oriented dimension to his approach. That experience carries over into case preparation and legal research. It also informs how he evaluates evidence and frames arguments for hearings and trials.
He continues to serve clients through Poole Huffman, LLC and remains an active member of the State Bar of Georgia. His current practice centers on trial work and litigation practice in Georgia courts.
