About Scott L.
Scott L. Levine earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2001 after completing a bachelors degree in Legal Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1996. He began his legal training with internships that exposed him to administrative and civil rights work before turning to court-based roles.
Early in his career he served as a legal intern for the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination in 2000. He returned to Pennsylvania for a pair of 2002 clerkships, working for the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and for the DKW Law Group. In 2003 he worked as a certified legal intern at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Sikov Elder Law Clinic, where he handled clinic matters under faculty supervision. The following year he joined Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman and Goggin as a law clerk and in 2005 became an associate at that firm.
Levine moved into of-counsel roles mid-decade, taking positions with Fried & Davis in 2007 and with Elliott & Davis, PC in 2009. He also opened his own practice in 2008, forming the Law Offices of Scott L. Levine, LLC, where he has served as owner and lawyer. Alongside private practice, he has offered pro bono service as a volunteer lawyer for Protection from Abuse matters through Neighborhood Legal Services Association since 2008.
His professional credentials include a certification in Collaborative Law from CLASP and a mediator credential from the University of Massachusetts. Those qualifications align with a long-standing involvement in collaborative and family law circles. He holds memberships in the Collaborative Law Association of Western Pennsylvania and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals since 2016, and he joined the Pennsylvania Bar Association Collaborative Law Committee in 2017. He is also active in local and statewide bar groups, including the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section.
Levines practice reflects those affiliations. He handles family law matters, including divorce and child custody issues. He conducts mediations and participates in collaborative law cases that aim to settle disputes outside the courtroom. He continues to take Protection from Abuse cases in volunteer capacities and regularly works on related post-judgment and enforcement matters.
After nearly two decades of practice and a steady presence in regional collaborative law organizations, he continues to operate the Law Offices of Scott L. Levine, LLC. His current practice centers on family law, collaborative processes, mediation and related proceedings.
