About Scott

Scott Kocher earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he completed the legal training that would set the course for a career in litigation. He moved from law school into practice in the Pacific Northwest and built a career across state lines. His academic credentials opened doors; he has spent the years since shaping work that sits largely in courtrooms and professional forums.

He is licensed to practice in both Oregon and Washington. That dual admission has allowed him to take on matters that cross state boundaries and to counsel clients whose needs do not stop at a single state line. Over time he has balanced courtroom work with service to the bar, participating in committees and section activities that inform practice and policy in the region.

Kocher served as chair of the Products Liability Section of the Oregon State Bar in 2009. In that role he oversaw programming, member discussion, and educational efforts for attorneys who handle product-related claims. The post placed him at the center of debates about evidence, expert testimony, and statutory change that affect product liability practice in Oregon.

His legal work has been shaped by that experience. He has taken on product liability matters and related civil litigation. Clients and colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic in litigation settings. He approaches claims with an eye for legal detail and an understanding of how procedural choices shape outcomes. He also engages in the professional networks that help move complex cases forward, serving on panels and attending continuing legal education events.

Kocher is currently a member of Forum Law Group LLC. At the firm he participates in litigation projects and contributes to the firm’s work on cases that raise questions about product safety, liability, and risk allocation. He works with the other attorneys at the firm to prepare pleadings, manage discovery, and present arguments in court when necessary.

Outside of the courtroom he has continued to be involved in the legal community through section work and speaking at practice-oriented events. Clients and peers know him as an attorney who combines formal legal training with practical litigation experience. He maintains an active law practice and handles product liability and civil litigation matters at Forum Law Group LLC.
