About Scott J.
Scott J. Sheldon trained first as a business student and then as a lawyer. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance from California State University, Northridge in 2006, followed by an MBA from the same university in 2008. He completed his legal studies at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, receiving his J.D. in 2012.
During law school and immediately after, Sheldon gained courtroom and firm-side experience. In 2011 he served as a full-time judicial extern at the Los Angeles Superior Court and also worked as a law clerk at The Law Offices of Stephen J. Horvath. The year after graduation he handled contract lawyer and law clerk assignments for several employers, which broadened his practical exposure to litigation and case management.
Sheldon spent 2013 at The Law Office of David M. Grossman, where he worked as an associate attorney. The following year he established his own practice. Since 2014 he has been the principal attorney at the Law Office of Scott J. Sheldon, operating the firm under his own name and guiding its day-to-day litigation work.
He is licensed to practice in California and admitted to the United States District Court for the Central District of California. His California State Bar registration appears under number 290258. Over the years he has joined a range of professional associations, including the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Riverside County Bar Association and its Lawyer Academy, the Pasadena Bar Association, and the Western San Bernardino County Bar Association. He is also a member of Consumer Lawyers of California and the California Consumer Lawyers Association.
Those memberships point to an alignment with consumer-oriented litigation and civil practice. His early judicial externship and steady clerkship work informed his approach to case preparation and courtroom procedure. Colleagues and clients have noted that his background in business and finance helps when cases involve financial documents, damages calculations or negotiation strategy.
Sheldon runs a small plaintiff-side practice from his office, handling matters that arise in state and federal court. He represents individuals and businesses in civil disputes and often takes cases that involve consumer protection issues. He continues to be active in local and statewide bar groups while practicing law in California.
He maintains his law office in California and represents clients in civil litigation and consumer law matters.
