Scott Howard Finkbeiner is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2003. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Finkbeiner earned his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 2003. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Arizona, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance in 2000. His background in accounting and finance provides a strong foundation for his legal practice, particularly in complex financial matters.
Mr. Finkbeiner concentrates his practice in family law, handling cases involving divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and the division of complex marital estates. He has extensive experience in high-asset cases, including those involving multi-million-dollar corporations, both domestic and foreign. Throughout his career, Mr. Finkbeiner has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. He has been appointed as a Temporary Judge in the San Diego Superior Court – Family Law Division and serves as a Family Law settlement judge and mediator. He is frequently appointed as a private mediator by fellow family law attorneys to resolve complex and highly contested cases. He has lectured on topics such as the analysis of stock options, restricted stock units, executive compensation, and cryptocurrency in family law.
Mr. Finkbeiner is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association, serving on the Certified Family Law Specialists Committee. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer from 2018 to 2026. He is also a member of the California Lawyers Association, Family Law Section, and has been recognized for his community leadership and professional involvement.
