About Scott
Scott Ellerin pursued law after completing undergraduate studies in marketing. He earned a B.S. in Marketing from Kennesaw State University in 2001 and a J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2004. Those academic years framed an early interest in the intersection of business and legal practice.
He began his career at Kenny Leigh and Associates in 2004, joining the firm as a lawyer shortly after law school. That first position introduced him to the day-to-day work of a litigation firm and to the administrative side of running a legal practice. In 2007 he left to establish his own firm, Scott R. Ellerin, P.A., taking on the challenges of solo practice and firm management.
By 2010 he shifted into a partnership role, forming Ellerin | Hutchinson. That experience broadened his responsibilities. He moved from solo management to shared decision-making, building systems for case intake, client communication and staff oversight. In 2014 he returned to Kenny Leigh and Associates in a leadership capacity and was named Director of North Florida. The move placed him in a regional management role inside a larger firm structure.
His career shows repeated transitions between firm ownership and firm leadership. He has run a solo practice, co-led a partnership and led a regional office inside an established firm. Those shifts speak to a capacity for both hands-on client work and organizational oversight. His undergraduate training in marketing informs how he thinks about client communication and the practical business of law.
Ellerin’s work has been centered in Florida throughout his career. He has spent the bulk of his professional life at Kenny Leigh and Associates, punctuated by periods running his own firms. Those stints provided direct exposure to case management, billing systems and the operational demands of small and mid-size practices.
Colleagues and clients see him as someone who understands both the courtroom and the office behind it. He has navigated the responsibilities of running a practice while maintaining an active role in client matters. He balances managerial tasks with client representation in a way that reflects his varied career path.
He currently serves as Director of North Florida for Kenny Leigh and Associates, where he concentrates on serving clients across the state of Florida through firm-based litigation and legal services.
