About Scott

Scott Commander has been practicing law in Atlanta since 1991. Specializing in complex civil litigation, he handles a variety of cases, including jury trials in both state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation. His clients includes victims of catastrophic injuries, individuals involved in aviation accidents, and those facing construction-related incidents. Born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Scott graduated from Frank W — Cox High School in 1981. He pursued higher education at the College of William and Mary, earning a B.A.

in Economics in 1985. Prior to entering law school, he worked as an Air Traffic Control Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Atlanta Center. This role provided him with a unique perspective on safety and regulatory compliance, which he later applied in his legal career. In 1991, Scott graduated cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law. During his time there, he was actively involved in moot court and trial competitions, honing his advocacy skills. After completing his legal education, he joined Alston & Bird, LLP, where he focused on medical products and services liability.

His work at the firm laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors in personal injury law. In 1996, Scott established his own practice, where he dedicated himself to representing victims of preventable injuries and defending medical professionals against malpractice claims. Over the years, he has tried more than 25 cases to jury verdict, showcasing his litigation skills and commitment to his clients. Additionally, he has successfully resolved over 200 personal injury cases through arbitration and mediation, achieving results as high as $8.5 million. These accomplishments underscore his ability to navigate complex legal challenges effectively. Scott is admitted to practice in Georgia's state and superior courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.

He is also authorized to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. A member of the State Bar of Georgia, Scott has been recognized by Super Lawyers and Martindale-Hubbell for his legal abilities and ethical standards.
