About Sarah Ruth

Sarah Ruth Anjum built her legal foundations in two distinct academic environments. She completed an A.B. at the University of Chicago in 2006, where she specialized in modern Islamic political thought. That intellectual grounding preceded a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, earned in 2012.

After law school, Anjum established a practice in Ohio. She is admitted to practice in the state of Ohio and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Those admissions have allowed her to handle cases in both state and federal forums.

Her training reflects a mix of courtroom preparation and alternative dispute resolution. She is a graduate of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Trial Skills Institute and completed the OSBA’s Death Penalty Defense Seminar. She also holds mediation training from the Ohio Supreme Court. Taken together, these certifications signal time spent in trial advocacy and in learning how to manage conflict outside the courtroom.

Anjum heads a small practice, operating under the Law Office of Sarah Anjum, LLC. In that setting she has managed litigation matters and worked directly with clients through trial preparation and mediation processes. The office structure has allowed her to steer cases from early pleadings through evidentiary hearings and settlement discussions.

Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She breaks complex problems into discrete issues and prefers clear lines of analysis over rhetorical flourish. In court she relies on procedural knowledge developed through courtroom training and on the practical lessons that come from trying cases. She also draws on mediation skills when the record and parties make settlement a realistic path forward.

Outside of direct casework, Anjum’s academic background continues to inform her perspective. Her undergraduate study of political thought provides a wider lens on legal issues that touch on governance, rights and public policy. That intellectual curiosity informs how she frames legal questions and communicates them to judges, juries and clients.

She currently practices at the Law Office of Sarah Anjum, LLC, handling trial work, death penalty defense matters and court-approved mediation.
