About Sarah Elena
Sarah Elena Gold built a legal path that began in the classroom and moved quickly into private practice. She earned her A.A.S. in Paralegal Studies from Schenectady County Community College in 2001, completed a B.A. in History at the State University of New York at Albany the same year, and received her J.D. from Albany Law School in 2005. Those years in upstate New York set the stage for a local career that has intertwined law, teaching and small-firm practice.
After law school, Gold established herself in the New York bar. She holds admission in New York and is admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court. She joined professional associations early, becoming a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Albany County Bar Association in 2007. She later joined the American Bar Association in 2017. Those affiliations have run alongside a practising life centered in her home region.
In 2011 she opened Gold Law Office. The firm marked her turn to firm leadership and direct client work. Four years later, in 2015, she expanded her professional roles. She accepted an of counsel position at DeFio Kean Law PLLC while also taking on a part-time academic role as an adjunct professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The combination of firm work and academic teaching gave her a chance to apply courtroom and transactional experience to a classroom setting.
Gold also serves as a New York State notary public. That credential complements her private practice and provides an additional service for clients who need certified documents. Her of counsel role at DeFio Kean and the ongoing operation of Gold Law Office have run in parallel, allowing her to balance casework, consulting and occasional teaching duties.
Colleagues and clients see Gold as a practitioner who moves between the courthouse, the office and the classroom. She has kept her practice local while maintaining the ability to appear in federal venues, including the Supreme Court, when cases require it. Her memberships in county, state and national bar groups mirror that mix of local practice and wider professional engagement.
She continues to operate Gold Law Office and maintains active admissions in New York and before the U.S. Supreme Court. Her current practice focuses on serving clients through the firm and providing notary services where needed.
