About Sandra
Sandra Segal built a foundation in rigorous thinking early on. She earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in German from Auburn University in 1986. She went on to receive her J.D. from American University in 1989. Those academic years set the stage for a career that moves between solo practice and firm leadership.
She entered private practice in the early 1990s. In 1991 she worked as an associate at Anderson, Graddick & Nabors. The next year she formed her own practice, Sandra R. Segal, P.C., signaling an early turn toward building a client-centered law office. By 1996 her résumé shows two different roles: she was an associate at Bond, Botes, Sysktus & Larsen, P.C., and also took on contract work as a solo practitioner. That period reflects a mix of firm-based litigation work and independent practice.
In 2006 she again put her name on a solo practice as Sandra R.D. Segal, Lawyer at Law. A year later she joined The Law Offices of Segal & Segal as managing partner, a position she has held since 2007. Those steps mark a shift from lone-practitioner work toward managing a small firm and its daily operations. Leadership of an office brought administrative duties alongside client work.
Segal maintains active memberships in a number of legal organizations. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association. She also holds membership in the Federal Bar Association. On the defense side of the bar she belongs to both the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Those affiliations place her in professional networks that address both local and broader practice issues.
Across three decades she has moved through several practice settings. She has worked inside established firms, operated as a solo practitioner, and taken on firm management. That variety has given her a practical perspective on how small offices run, how client relationships are developed, and how cases move through the system. Colleagues and clients over the years have encountered her in court calendars, client conferences, and in firm operations.
As of 2026 she is managing partner at The Law Offices of Segal & Segal, where she maintains a private practice serving clients in Alabama.
