About Sandra
Sandra Schildgen built her legal foundation in two well-regarded institutions. She earned a B.A. from Columbia University in 1992 and later completed her J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law in 1998. Those years on campus shaped her approach to legal work and introduced her to the practical demands of the profession.
After law school she established her professional life in Illinois. Over time she became a partner at Wilson & Wilson, a role that places her among the firm’s leadership. In that position she handles a broad range of responsibilities. She oversees client matters, helps set case strategy, and mentors associates who are early in their careers.
Her peers know her through routine interactions at the Illinois State Bar, where she maintains an active membership. That connection keeps her engaged with changes in state rules and court procedures. It also gives her a regular point of contact with other lawyers in the region and with the institutions that shape practice in Illinois.
At Wilson & Wilson she participates in the day-to-day running of the firm as well as longer-term planning. Partners there split duties between client work, administrative tasks and business development. Schildgen’s role reflects that mix: she balances the demands of client representation with supervising teams and reviewing complex files.
Clients see a lawyer who moves between the courtroom and the office without losing sight of practical results. She is known for methodical case preparation and steady courtroom presence when matters require litigation. On transactional or advisory matters she aims for clear communication, setting out options and likely outcomes so clients can make informed choices.
Outside of casework she returns to issues that shaped her in law school: the interaction of law and policy and the mechanics of effective advocacy. She maintains professional ties in Illinois and continues to follow developments at both the state and local levels.
As of 2026 she practices law in Illinois at Wilson & Wilson.
