About Samuel M
Samuel M Warren trained first as an accountant before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Utah in 2008, completed a J.D. at UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in 2011, and added an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University in 2012. The sequence of degrees shows a clear progression into tax and estate matters, grounded in both numbers and legal doctrine.
His early career moved between finance and legal support roles. In 2003 he worked in collections at UCN Inc. and later handled accounting files for Primary Residential Mortgage in 2006. That same year he served as a financial aid representative at Eagle Gate College. He gained direct legal exposure as a law clerk in 2009 at Jeffrey Burr Ltd., a role that prefaced his transition into firm practice after law school.
Warren joined Bingham Snow & Caldwell in 2012 as a lawyer. He spent several years at GERRARD COX LARSEN beginning in 2015, developing hands-on experience in estate planning and tax matters. In 2021 he began practicing at John Park Law, where he continues to work. His memberships reflect his geographic practice: he is a member of the Utah State Bar since 2013 and has been part of the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Counsel since 2016. He is admitted to practice in both Utah and Nevada.
Clients and colleagues describe him as methodical and detail-oriented. His accounting background informs the way he approaches tax questions and estate structures. He writes and reviews tax analyses, prepares estate documents, and addresses probate and trust administration. Cases and files often require coordination across tax filings and estate mechanics; he brings experience on both sides of that divide.
Warren's practice sits at the intersection of law and financial documentation. He handles planning for individuals and families, prepares estate and trust instruments, and advises on tax implications of asset transfers. He also assists representatives in probate and estate administration proceedings. The work is technical; it often requires parsing tax code language and translating it into practical document provisions.
He continues to live and practice in the intermountain West, serving clients in Utah and Nevada. At John Park Law he concentrates on estate planning, tax-related legal work, and the administration of estates and trusts.
