About Samuel J.
Samuel J. Bennett earned his J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2014. He arrived at law school after earlier undergraduate work and completed the program during a period of steady change in legal education. Classwork and clinic opportunities shaped his early view of practice and the responsibilities that come with representing others in and out of court.
After law school he moved into practice in Michigan. He is licensed to practice in the state and began handling matters across a range of client needs. Those early years in practice were spent learning the practical side of lawyering: managing deadlines, drafting pleadings, and explaining legal options to people facing difficult decisions.
In 2018 he opened The Bennett Law Office, PLC and has served as its owner since then. Running a small firm meant taking on both casework and the business tasks that keep a law office running. He built the practice from the ground up, hiring and working with staff, establishing office procedures, and meeting the obligations of managing client matters and trust accounting.
Bennett maintains professional memberships and stays connected to the local legal community. He attends continuing legal education and participates in professional events. Those activities keep him current on changes in the law and help him maintain professional ties across the state.
