About Samuel H.
Samuel H. Pond began his legal path in Philadelphia area classrooms. He earned a B.S. from Drexel University in 1981 and took his law degree from Temple University School of Law in 1984. Those formative years set the tone for a career centered on trial work and advocacy on behalf of injured workers.
He entered private practice soon after graduating from law school and eventually helped establish Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano. He serves there as a managing and founding partner. Over decades in practice he developed a courtroom-first approach, representing claimants in contested matters and overseeing complex workers' compensation litigation.
Pond's professional life is tied closely to Pennsylvania law and institutions. He maintains membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and sits on panels and advisory bodies that shape workers' compensation policy in the state. He has served on the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners and the Pennsylvania Workers Compensation Advisory Board, roles that bring a regulatory perspective to his caseload and firm leadership.
Leadership in bar and trial organizations has been a recurring theme. Pond has held presidencies in both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations and has chaired the Workers Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He has also led the Education and Ethics Committee. These posts involved organizing continuing education, advising on ethical standards, and representing trial lawyers' interests in local and statewide forums.
Beyond professional associations, Pond participates in programs aimed at expanding access to legal services. He is a member of the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent VIP Program and serves as a panel lawyer for Injured Workers of PA. He also sits on the board of the Pennsylvania Federation of Injured Workers and acts as treasurer for the Committee for a Better Tomorrow. Those roles place him in regular contact with community advocates and client groups.
At the firm level, Pond combines casework with administrative responsibilities. He manages firm operations while continuing to try cases and handle appeals. His practice has included contested hearings, lump-sum settlements, and issues arising from workplace injuries and disability claims. He remains active in both trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and continues to be involved in state-level discussions about workers' compensation law. He currently focuses his practice on workers' compensation and related employment matters.
