About Sam
Sam Mukerji earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001 and a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2005. He moved through his education during a period of steady expansion in Texas courts and legal practice. The degrees provided the foundation for litigation work he would later pursue in Houston.
After law school Mukerji entered practice and, by 2008, was working as a lawyer at the Mukerji Law Office. His résumé lists that office as the locus of his work from that year onward. Over time he has maintained steady involvement in organizations that center on trial advocacy and civil liberties.
He has held memberships in the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association since 2002. He is also a member of the Texas Civil Rights Project and the Harris County Democratic Lawyers Association, memberships that stretch from 2002 to the present. Those affiliations indicate sustained engagement with trial work and civil-rights concerns in the state.
Mukerji’s practice has involved courtroom work. Colleagues describe him as someone comfortable in litigation settings and in handling matters that touch on civil-rights issues. He has participated in cases that require development of factual records, motion practice, and appearances before judges. He has also been active in local legal circles, taking part in association events and discussions about litigation strategy and public-law topics.
His approach in the office blends preparation and practical case management. He prepares evidence and witness presentations for trial. He files pleadings and argues motions when needed. He also consults with clients about the likely trajectories of their matters and the steps required to pursue relief in state forums.
Outside the courtroom Mukerji’s association work connects him to peers across Texas. Participation in the Harris County Democratic Lawyers Association indicates a parallel interest in the civic and political conversations that touch on law and policy in the region.
As of 2026 he continues to practice at Mukerji Law Office in Texas. His current practice centers on trial litigation and civil-rights matters handled through his Houston-area office.
