About Sabrina
Sabrina Strand built a path to tax law that begins in liberal arts and moves through courtroom clerkships and clinic leadership. She earned a B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs and Russian Studies from Occidental College in 2010, a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2012, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2014. Those academic choices set a clear trajectory toward federal tax practice.
Early in her career Strand combined private practice and public service. She worked as a law clerk at Welch Law Group in 2011 and later served as a law clerk and legal intern for the Honorable Elizabeth Crewson Paris at the United States Tax Court in 2014 and 2015. In between, she took a role as a tax reform analyzer at Heider Tanner & Dirks and volunteered at the University of Denver Low Income Tax Clinic. Strand also worked as an associate at Joseph H. Thibodeau, PC in 2015. Before law school, she co-owned Off The Wall Graffiti, Inc., an entrepreneurial experience that preceded her formal legal training.
Her career shows steady immersion in tax procedure and controversy. Clerking at the Tax Court offered direct exposure to briefing, bench procedures, and the shape of federal tax litigation. Later stints in private firms expanded her practice to client representation and case management. In 2022 she returned to firm work as an associate at Greenspoon Marder LLP. In 2023 she took on the role of director at the University of Denver Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, an appointment that put her in a leadership position handling client intake, supervising clinic matters, and mentoring law students on procedural and substantive tax issues.
Strand holds memberships in multiple bars and courts, including the State Bar of Colorado, the District of Columbia Bar, the California bar, and the United States Tax Court. Those admissions support a practice that navigates federal tax litigation, administrative appeals, and taxpayer representation across several jurisdictions. Her background spans tax policy analysis, practical clinic work serving low-income taxpayers, and litigation support from her years in the Tax Court.
She balances courtroom experience and clinic leadership while maintaining private-practice credentials. She currently practices tax law at Greenspoon Marder LLP and continues to represent clients in tax controversy matters while advising on compliance and taxpayer relief work.
