About Ryan R.

Ryan R. Slunaker earned his law degree from Stanford Law School in 2010 after completing undergraduate studies in economics and political science at the University of Oregon in 2005. He left Oregon with a B.S. and a dual interest in numbers and public affairs, and he finished Stanford with a J.D. that positioned him for practice in California.

His legal career has been tied to one firm name: Fenwick & West LLP. At Fenwick he joined a firm known for representing technology and life sciences clients, and he has worked on matters arising out of that practice environment. He is authorized to practice in California and has built experience advising clients under state law. His colleagues describe him as methodical in approach and steady in litigation and transactional settings.

Slunaker’s education informs how he approaches problems. The economics background gives him a way to frame business questions. The political science study sharpened his attention to regulatory and policy issues. Those strands come together in the assignments he takes from corporate clients and other businesses that need legal counsel on business operations, compliance and disputes.

At Fenwick, he has handled a range of matters that reflect the firm’s client base. He has worked on transactional documentation, contractual negotiations and disputes where the interplay of commercial goals and legal constraints is central. He has also assisted on issues that require attention to both legal detail and the commercial consequences for clients. He tends to work as part of teams that combine litigation, transactional and regulatory skills.

Outside of formal casework, Slunaker keeps current on developments in California law that affect corporate and commercial practice. His career path shows a steady progression from law school into firm-side practice, and he has remained in the California bar since beginning his practice.

He currently practices at Fenwick & West LLP in California, representing clients in matters arising under California law.
