About Ryan
Ryan Clement's academic path combines liberal arts, law and business. He earned a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2001. He then took up legal study at the University of California, Davis, School of Law and received his J.D. in 2004. Nearly a decade later he returned to the classroom and completed an M.B.A. at the University of Colorado - Denver in 2013. Those degrees inform how he approaches legal problems: they are legal questions and business questions at once.
After law school, Clement began practicing in Colorado. He is licensed to practice in that state and has built a practice around transactions and commercial matters affecting companies of varying sizes. His early years in practice gave him experience drafting and negotiating contracts, guiding corporate formation and handling routine compliance issues that businesses face as they grow.
The addition of an M.B.A. altered the shape of his work. He blends commercial judgment into legal advice and often works on matters where legal risk intersects with business strategy. He advises on corporate governance and commercial agreements, and he handles licensing arrangements and vendor contracts for technology companies and other businesses. He also assists clients in structuring deals and documenting partnerships so the legal paperwork aligns with the parties’ commercial objectives.
Clement's practice reflects the crossover between law and technology. He spends time helping clients translate technical needs into contractual terms they can manage. That includes negotiating software and services agreements, addressing allocation of liability, and helping clients think through regulatory and operational implications of their projects. He writes and reviews transactional documents and counsels business leaders on practical steps to reduce exposure.
Today he practices at Business and Technology Legal Group. There he works with entrepreneurs, established companies and in some cases outside counsel teams that need transactional support. His background in law and business frames how he advises clients and how he evaluates legal options against business priorities. He currently practices at Business and Technology Legal Group, concentrating on business and technology matters.
