About Ryan Christopher

Ryan Christopher Smith earned his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. He completed his studies there before moving into private practice in Tennessee. The law school’s curriculum and clinical opportunities provided a foundation for the practical work he would undertake after graduation.

He is admitted to practice in Tennessee. Early in his career he took positions that exposed him to transactional work and client counseling. Over time he gravitated toward matters that require careful planning and attention to personal detail. His experience in client-facing roles shaped a methodical approach to document drafting and client interviews.

By the time he joined Next Frontier Estate Planning, Smith had developed a steady practice in estate-related work. At the firm he handled wills and trusts, drafted powers of attorney and advance directives, and assisted clients with probate proceedings. He often worked with clients who were planning for retirement, addressing family transitions or managing estate tax considerations. The work called for clear explanations and an ability to translate legal options into practical steps for individuals and families.

Colleagues and clients have found his written work to be clear and his explanations accessible. He paid particular attention to the mechanics of trust administration and the interaction of estate documents with Tennessee law. That attention helped when matters moved from planning into probate or when documents had to be updated to reflect life changes.

Outside formal filings, Smith spent time helping clients think through their long-term goals. Meetings could range from a single session to a series of appointments to assemble a comprehensive estate plan. He used those conversations to ensure documents matched clients’ intentions and to identify potential issues before they rose to the surface during probate or incapacity.

Today he practices at Next Frontier Estate Planning in Tennessee. He focuses on estate planning, probate administration and related documentation at his current firm.
