About Ryan C.
Ryan C. Davis took an unconventional route into law. He began his higher education studying music, then turned to legal studies several years later. The shift shaped a professional who brings a different background to courtroom work and client counsel.
He earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University in 2005. A decade after finishing his undergraduate degree he completed a Juris Doctor at Nashville School of Law in 2015. The two degrees sit side by side on his CV and help explain a practical, disciplined approach to case preparation.
Davis is admitted to practice in Tennessee. Since completing law school he has built a practice centered on criminal matters, handling both pretrial work and courtroom proceedings. He represents clients in hearings and trials, and he spends much of his time researching statutes, preparing motions and arguing on behalf of those charged with offenses. Colleagues describe him as methodical and straightforward in court; clients note his attention to procedural detail.
He maintains memberships in several professional organizations. Those include the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Nashville Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. Davis attends association events and CLE programs in the region and keeps a regular presence in the local legal community.
Outside of formal memberships, his background in music education informs how he communicates complex topics to clients. He tends to break issues into clear parts and to explain options in plain language. He works locally in Tennessee, representing people in criminal matters and related proceedings. His current practice focuses on criminal defense in Tennessee.
