With over 25 years of experience in the legal field, she specializes in estate planning, trust administration, and probate. Her extensive background includes both estate planning and litigation, which allows her to navigate complex legal fields effectively. Ruth has represented Fortune 500 companies in the preparation and trial of hundreds of cases, honing her skills in managing all aspects of estate planning and trust administration. Ruth earned her Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1995, where she developed a strong foundation in legal principles.
Prior to that, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Service from the University of California, Riverside. Her academic achievements laid the groundwork for a successful legal career. After being admitted to the State Bar of California in the same year, she began her journey in the legal profession, initially managing her own law practice. Before co-founding Koller Herlihy LLP in 2013, Ruth served as a tax consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she gained valuable insights into tax implications related to estate planning. In 2011, she joined Barr & Barr Attorneys in Danville, California.
During her time there, she focused on will and trust litigation, elder abuse litigation, and conservatorships. This experience further solidified her expertise in handling contentious family dynamics that often arise in estate matters. Koller Herlihy LLP officially opened its doors in March 2023, marking a significant milestone in Ruth’s career.
