Mr. Hurd earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, Fredric G — Levin College of Law, in 1998. Prior to pursuing his legal education, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University in 1995.

While at the University of Florida, he demonstrated leadership and commitment to advocacy by serving as President of the Trial Competition Team in 1998 and participating in the Moot Court Team from 1997 to 1998. These experiences laid a strong foundation for his career in law, particularly in immigration and appellate matters. At Colombo & Hurd, Mr. Hurd focuses on many immigration issues — His expertise includes family-based petitions, deportation defense, and naturalization processes. He also has substantial experience in business-based immigration cases, such as EB-2 National Interest Waivers and EB-1A petitions for individuals of extraordinary ability. Additionally, he assists clients with employer-sponsored visas, including L-1, E-1/E-2, H-1B, and TN visas. A significant aspect of his practice involves guiding clients through the EB-5 investor visa program, where he provides strategic advice on investments and pathways to lawful permanent residency.
