About Russ
Russ Riggan built his path to the law in Nashville and St. Louis. He earned a B.A. in political science from Vanderbilt University in 1998. He continued his studies at Washington University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2001. Those years formed the groundwork for a practice that moves between courtroom work and federal filings.
After law school he entered private practice and later established Riggan Law Office, LLC. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri and holds memberships in both state bars. His federal admissions extend to the Eighth Circuit and to multiple United States District Courts, including the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois and the Eastern, Western and Central Districts of Missouri. Those admissions shape the range of matters he can bring before state and federal tribunals.
Riggan’s professional affiliations reflect the types of matters that appear in his docket. He maintains membership in the National Employment Lawyers Association — St. Louis Chapter, and in the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers. He is also a member of the American Bar Association. Those associations connect him to other lawyers who handle employment disputes, civil trials and related litigation.
In practice he handles litigation work that often requires trials or federal court appearances. He represents clients in dispute resolution and courtroom proceedings. Colleagues describe him as thorough in preparation. Clients look to him for clear explanations of procedural options and for steady courtroom presence when cases proceed to trial.
His courtroom work and bar memberships mean he often files records and briefs in federal district courts and appeals courts. He appears before judges in Missouri and Illinois and navigates the differing procedural rules that statewide and federal courts impose. That practical familiarity with both state and federal systems informs how he prepares cases and advises clients about timing, remedies and risks.
Outside the courtroom he participates in bar activities and local legal groups. He engages in continuing education and remains active in organizations that focus on employment and trial practice. He also maintains his practice through Riggan Law Office, LLC, where he handles employment and civil trial matters.
He currently practices at Riggan Law Office, LLC handling employment and civil trial matters.
