About Ross Stuart

Ross Stuart Gelber trained first as an undergraduate at Tulane University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies in 2004. He went on to earn his J.D. from Albany Law School in 2007, taking coursework in family law while in law school. Those academic choices set the course for a career spent working on legal matters that touch on family relationships and the court systems that resolve them.

After law school, Gelber gained admission to practice in both New York and Massachusetts. Those dual licenses have allowed him to handle matters that involve clients, courts and statutes in two neighboring states. He has built a practice grounded in courtroom experience as well as in advising clients through settlement negotiations and paperwork that family law often requires.

Gelber’s work is rooted in the practical demands of family law. He has handled cases that involve custody arrangements, support calculations and the division of assets. He approaches each file by assessing what the client needs from the legal system and the realistic outcomes available under state law. He often balances careful preparation for litigation with efforts to resolve disputes outside of a trial setting when that makes sense for the client.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in the way he prepares pleadings and organizes evidence. He spends time on the procedural details that matter in both Massachusetts and New York practice. That attention to process can affect timing, settlement posture and how a judge views a case. Gelber also keeps current on statutory changes and family court procedures in both states so that advice to clients reflects the law as it stands.

Today Gelber maintains an active law practice serving individuals involved in family court matters across Massachusetts and New York. He works on custody and parenting plans, child and spousal support issues, and the equitable division of property. His current practice focuses on representing clients in family law proceedings and related negotiations in those jurisdictions.
