About Rosa C.
Rosa C. Melia-Acevedo built her legal foundation through classroom work and hands-on clinics. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics with a minor in Theological Studies from The Catholic University of America in 2006. She later completed her Juris Doctor at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013, where she took part in the Immigrant Rights Clinic and began working on immigration matters in a clinical setting.
Her early legal training included a 2012 law clerk placement in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Immigration Litigation, Appellate Section. That year also included a stint as a student clinician at Florida Coastal’s clinic and a law clerk role that exposed her to appellate briefing and federal practice. In 2011 she worked as a legal intern at Mil Mujeres Legal Services, adding community-oriented immigration work to her résumé.
After law school she joined Catherine R. Henin-Clark, PA as an associate in 2013 and later took on a role at NeJame Law, PA. She was an associate there in 2016 and became a partner in 2018. In 2021 she worked as a business immigration lawyer at Colombo & Hurd, where she handled employer-based matters. In 2022 she returned to Catherine R. Henin-Clark, PA as a senior associate lawyer. Those moves trace a steady progression from clerkships and clinic work into private practice handling both individual and corporate immigration issues.
She has been a member of the Florida State Bar since 2013 and holds membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and its Central Florida chapter. She is admitted to practice in Florida and has membership in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Locally, she belongs to the Orange County Bar Association and participates in community organizations such as the Brazilian American Business Council and the Florida Arab American Community Center.
Her background includes appellate experience and federal immigration litigation, along with direct representation in administrative immigration matters. She has experience preparing federal filings, advising employers on visa and compliance questions, and representing individuals before immigration agencies. Her combination of clinic-based work, government appellate exposure, and private practice engagements informs how she approaches cases.
As of 2026 she practices in Florida and is affiliated with the Catherine R. Henin-Clark, PA office. She handles a range of immigration matters including employment-based immigration and administrative immigration proceedings, and she continues to work on cases that involve federal filings and court advocacy.
