About Ronald
Ronald C. Morton is the founding member of the Morton Law Firm, PLLC, located in Clinton, Mississippi. His practice focuses on estate planning, asset protection, elder law, business planning, and Medicaid planning. He graduated cum laude from Mississippi College in 1988 with a double major in public administration and applied sociology. In 1992, he earned his Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law. He was awarded a Master of Laws in Taxation with Honors from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2007. He has been a Certified Elder Law Attorney since 2005.
Mr. Morton has been an active member of the Mississippi Bar for over 24 years. He served as Chairman of the Mississippi Bar’s Technology Committee and is currently on its Executive Committee and the Ethics Committee. In 2005, he received the Mississippi Bar’s Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to education and law office technology. He has authored numerous articles for legal publications, including co-authoring the Mississippi Rules Annotated (Supp. 1994) and writing chapters in West’s Mississippi Civil Procedure and West’s Encyclopedia of Mississippi Law. He also authored a chapter on Clients with Disabilities in Mississippi Professional Responsibility.
Mr. Morton teaches Elder Law as an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law. He is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, WealthCounsel, and The Advisor’s Forum. He has been married for 25 years to Cynthia Sims, and they have twin sons who attend The University of Mississippi. The Morton Law Firm, PLLC, established in 1997, offers a full range of civil legal services, including estate planning, asset protection, elder law, business planning, and Medicaid planning. The firm emphasizes protecting clients' wealth from creditors, taxes, and nursing home expenses.
