About Ronald M.
Ronald M. Otten began his academic path in Minnesota. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Minnesota State University, Moorhead and later received his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law. Those degrees led him into a legal career that has run through private practice, firm work and community service.
His résumé shows early entrepreneurial steps. In 1990 he listed himself as owner of Ronald M Otten Lawyer at Law. Five years later he worked as an associate at Henningson and Snoxell, Ltd., and by 2004 he was a senior associate at Kalina, Wills, Gisvold & Clark, P.L.L.P. The chronology suggests a lawyer comfortable moving between roles in order to practice and to advise clients across different settings.
Otten’s experience intersects heavily with guardianship and estate matters. He has served on the Hennepin County 4th District Guardianship/Conservatorship Lawyer Panel since 2007. That panel work places him in direct contact with courts, families and guardianship procedures. It also informs his approach to estate-related problems that require both legal knowledge and an understanding of local court practice.
Beyond courtroom and office duties he has stayed active in civic and nonprofit circles. He holds memberships in Rotary and the Kiwanis Club. Since 2008 he has been on the Development Committee of Opportunity Partners. Since 2007 he has also contributed to the Resource Development Committee of the Ridgeview Foundation at Ridgeview Medical Center. These roles indicate an ongoing presence in community organizations that intersect with elder care and development services.
Across decades of practice Otten has worked both as a firm attorney and as a solo practitioner. That variety has exposed him to different client bases and case types. It has also meant steady work advising individuals on estate planning, probate matters and the procedures that arise when someone needs a conservator or guardian.
He now practices under the name Estate Planning Solutions. His current work concentrates on estate planning, guardianship and related family and probate matters. He maintains involvement in county panels and nonprofit committees while managing a practice that serves clients across Minnesota.
