About Rocio

Rocio Toriz followed a path through three prominent universities before entering private practice. She earned a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, then completed a Master of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. She finished her legal studies at the University of San Francisco School of Law, receiving her J.D.

Her academic record spans public affairs and law. Those disciplines intersect in ways that shape how many lawyers approach cases today. Toriz’s combination of degrees suggests training in both policy analysis and legal reasoning. She brings those perspectives to daily legal work.

Toriz is licensed to practice in California. She joined Salinas Law Group as an associate. In that role she contributes to client representation, research, and the preparation of legal documents. Colleagues describe associates as the lawyers who often handle the heavy lifting on cases and transactions, and that is the environment where Toriz has continued to develop her practice skills.

Her experience at Salinas Law Group has covered a variety of assignments typical for associates at full-service law firms. Those can include drafting motions and briefs, taking factual statements from witnesses, and coordinating with clients on strategy. Over time, she has taken on responsibility for matters entrusted to her by more senior attorneys, handling those tasks through to resolution.

Outside of casework, her educational background provides a foundation for engagement with regulatory and policy questions that arise in client matters. A public affairs degree can help attorneys parse administrative records and understand agency decision-making. J.D. training adds the procedural and doctrinal tools for arguing cases, whether in court filings or in negotiated settlements.

Toriz’s career remains centered in California law practice. She continues to work at Salinas Law Group, where she serves as an associate and takes on matters for the firm’s clients. She currently practices law at Salinas Law Group in California, handling a range of matters for clients.
