About Robin
Robin Melone studied politics at Mount Holyoke College before earning her law degree from Suffolk University Law School. Her undergraduate study gave her a grounding in public policy and institutions. Law school followed, and she moved into practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
She began her legal career in public defense. In 2004 she joined the New Hampshire Public Defender’s office, where she handled trial work and client advocacy in the state system. That early period shaped her courtroom practice and gave her regular exposure to criminal matters at various stages, from arraignment through trial.
After time in public service, Melone spent part of the next decade in private practice. In 2013 she worked at Bookman and Al Marayati. The following year she launched her own solo practice, Melone Law, PLLC. She later worked at Wadleigh Starr & Peters in 2018, returning to private-firm practice while continuing to represent individuals in criminal cases.
Melone’s professional affiliations reflect a steady involvement in criminal defense circles. She has been a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association since 2004 and joined the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2017. Since 2004 she has served on the board of the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. More recently she became active in local bar groups, holding memberships in both the Manchester Bar Association and the Nashua Bar Association beginning in 2018. Those roles keep her connected to developments in state procedure and trial practice.
Her work has centered on criminal defense in state courts. She represents clients in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and draws on experience from public defense and private practice. She handles the stages of criminal cases that often demand courtroom experience: hearings, negotiations, and trials. Her background includes trial work at the public defender’s office and later courtroom work in private practice.
Today Melone practices under the name Melone Law, PLLC. She remains active in the New Hampshire and Massachusetts bars and in criminal defense organizations. Her current practice concentrates on representing clients in criminal matters in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
