Robert W Frankhouser brings both legal training and human resources experience to his work. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Pennsylvania State University in 1999. He then completed a Juris Doctor at Duquesne University School of Law in 2006 and followed that with an MBA from Duquesne in 2007. Later professional development included the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program at the University of Michigan in 2016. Those academic steps reflect intersecting interests in law, business, and workplace issues.

Frankhouser’s career blends in-house practice and human resources roles. He joined EQT Corporation early in his career as a Human Resources Business Partner in 2000. He shifted into the company’s legal ranks as a Staff Lawyer in Employee and Labor Relations in 2007 and moved through successive roles: Senior Lawyer in 2011, Counsel and Corporate Director of Employee Relations in 2014, and Senior Counsel and Corporate Director in 2017. In 2018 he held the title Senior Counsel & Vice President, Employee Relations. In 2019 he left EQT for private practice as a partner at GardnerFrankhouser.

Those positions placed him at the intersection of employment law and HR operations. At EQT he advised on workplace policies, employee relations matters, and compliance with employment statutes. He worked on dispute resolution, internal investigations, and guidance for managers and human resources teams. His MBA and executive HR coursework inform how he approaches the business and organizational dimensions of employment issues as well as the legal ones.

Outside his employment roles he participates in the local legal community. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and has spent most of his career handling matters that arise under state and federal employment rules and regulations.

Since joining GardnerFrankhouser in 2019, Frankhouser has combined his experience advising corporate clients and handling employment-related legal work in private practice. He works with employers on policy drafting, employee relations, compliance issues, and workplace investigations. His current practice centers on employment and labor law, employee relations, and workplace compliance.
