About Robert S.

Robert S. Denton is an attorney who built his career across two coasts. He studied journalism at the University of Oklahoma, earning a B.A. in 1998, and later turned to law at Pepperdine University School of Law, where he completed his J.D. in 2003. Those scholarly years combined reporting instincts and legal training, shaping a practitioner comfortable with both written advocacy and courtroom procedure.

Denton’s early legal work began soon after law school. He served as a research assistant at Pepperdine in 2004, a position that kept him close to academic inquiry and legal writing. In 2006 he joined the Ventura County District Lawyer s Office as a deputy, gaining practical experience in a government office and regular exposure to litigation and courtroom practice. That stint in public service lasted until he moved into private practice.

In 2011 Denton worked as an associate at Best and Sharp, where he handled matters typical of a mid‑sized firm. Two years later he took the leap to establish his own firm. Since 2013 he has been the owner of The Denton Law Office PLLC. Running a small firm has required him to manage casework, client relations, and the business side of a legal practice all at once.

Denton is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and California and is also admitted to the Federal Circuit. Those admissions allow him to appear in state courts on both coasts and in certain federal forums. His background includes courtroom work from his time in Ventura County as well as civil practice developed in private firms.

Peers and clients describe him as methodical in his preparation and straightforward in communication. He tends to rely on careful research and clear drafting rather than theatrics. That approach traces back to his undergraduate training in journalism and his early law‑school research roles, both of which emphasized accuracy and the importance of presenting facts cleanly.

Today Denton operates The Denton Law Office PLLC and splits his time between casework and managing the practice. He handles matters in Oklahoma and California and appears in the Federal Circuit when jurisdiction requires it. He focuses his current practice on representing clients in state and federal matters in Oklahoma and California and before the Federal Circuit.
