About Robert Matthew
Robert Matthew Perry trained in New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2000 and completed his Juris Doctor at Rutgers School of Law–Camden in 2003. Those years framed his early interest in public service and the courtroom.
He began his legal career as a law clerk for the State of New Jersey Judiciary in 2003. That position placed him inside the state court system at the outset of his professional life. He moved into prosecutorial work in 2005 when he joined the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office as an assistant prosecutor. He returned to county prosecution in 2014, serving as an assistant prosecutor with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Years in the prosecutor’s office gave him frequent courtroom exposure. He worked on a range of criminal matters and handled pretrial and trial-stage responsibilities. The record shows sustained litigation experience that later informed his transition to private practice.
In 2015 he joined Rosenberg | Perry & Associates. He is a Certified Criminal Trial Lawyer under the New Jersey Supreme Court, a credential that reflects his trial experience in the state’s courts. He remains active in local and state bar organizations, including the Burlington County Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey.
Colleagues describe his practice as grounded in courtroom work and case preparation. He balances trial strategy with case assessment and client counseling. His background on both sides of the courtroom—first as a prosecutor, then in private practice—shapes how he approaches evidence and trial tactics.
Perry maintains an office in Mount Holly. He handles criminal matters at the trial and pretrial levels and appears regularly in New Jersey courts. He continues to practice law from the firm's Mount Holly office and concentrates on criminal defense and trial work there.
