About Robert
Robert Masud built his career on steady advancement and a steady presence in court. He trained in finance before moving into law, then combined those disciplines across decades of private practice and firm leadership. He is known for navigating complex commercial and appellate matters and for leading firms that bear his name.
Masud's academic record bridges business and law. He earned a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Miami in 1977, and later returned there for an M.B.A. in finance, completed in 1984. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1987. Those credentials shaped how he views disputes and transactions — through both a commercial and a legal lens.
He began his legal career as an associate at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP in 1987. Three years later he moved to private practice and became principal of Masud & Associates in 1990. That early period established his practice patterns: handling business litigation, appeals, and federal matters that require cross-jurisdictional knowledge.
Leadership followed practice. In 2000 he became chief executive officer of Masud & Company. In 2011 he assumed the same title at Masud & Co., PC, the firm he leads today. Over the years he has qualified to appear in multiple courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court and federal appellate panels such as the First, Eleventh and Federal Circuits. He is also admitted in state bars including Florida and Massachusetts.
Masud has maintained an active presence in professional organizations. His memberships include the American Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Dade County Bar Association. He also belongs to international groups such as the International Bar Association, the Inter-American Bar Association and the Society of English & American Lawyers. These memberships reflect a practice that often crosses state and national lines.
Colleagues and clients encounter a lawyer who combines commercial training with appellate experience. He handles matters that involve business finance, commercial disputes and federal appellate procedure. He continues to lead Masud & Co., PC and represents clients in both trial and appellate settings. His current practice concentrates on commercial litigation and appellate work.
