He has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout San Diego County and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Garland earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he graduated in 2002. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, San Diego, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies in 1989. During his time at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, he was actively involved in various student organizations and participated in the school's clinical legal education program.
Mr. Garland concentrates his practice in the area of family law, representing individuals and families in matters involving divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, property division, and domestic violence. He has extensive experience in all stages of family law proceedings, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size family law firm in San Diego for five years.
