Robert Lee Marshall is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1999. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Marshall is the founder and principal attorney at Marshall Law Office, a criminal defense firm located in Oroville, California. He has been practicing law for over 27 years, serving clients throughout Butte County and the surrounding Northern California region.
Mr. Marshall earned his Juris Doctor degree from CAL Northern School of Law, graduating in 1998. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. During his time at CAL Northern, he was actively involved in the school's legal community, participating in various student organizations and gaining practical experience through internships.
Mr. Marshall concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, including DUI, domestic violence, drug crimes, theft offenses, and sex crimes. He represents individuals at all stages of the criminal justice process, from initial investigations and pre-trial motions to trial proceedings and appeals. His extensive experience allows him to develop comprehensive defense strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
Throughout his career, Mr. Marshall has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Butte, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as a Deputy Public Defender in Solano County from 2005 to 2007 and in Mendocino County from 2003 to 2005, gaining valuable experience in handling serious felony cases, including murder trials.
Mr. Marshall is an active member of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, serving on the Board of Governors and as a Legislative Committee Member. He is also a member of the California Public Defenders Association. In addition to his professional affiliations, he is involved in community activities, including coaching football and participating in the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Marshall is fluent in English and Spanish, enabling him to effectively serve the diverse communities of Northern California.
