About Robert Jeffrey
Robert Jeffrey Hauser studied public policy before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University in 1991 and a J.D. from the University of Florida in 1995. Those academic years set the stage for a career anchored in appellate work.
Hauser has spent much of his professional life in and around Florida appellate courts. He is admitted to practice in Florida and has been admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit. He joined Sniffen & Spellman, P.A., where he has handled appeals and related post-trial matters. His work has combined legal research, brief writing and oral argument in state and federal appellate forums.
His peers have recognized his specialization in appeals. Hauser holds Board Certification in Appellate Practice from the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. That credential reflects a sustained practice in appellate litigation and familiarity with the procedures that govern appeals at multiple levels.
He has been active in bar and court-related committees for some time. He served as Vice Chair of the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Certification Committee from 2013 to 2014 and as Chair from 2014 to 2015. Earlier, he held membership on the Florida Bar Appellate Courts Rules Committee from 2008 to 2011. Those roles involved reviewing standards and processes that affect appellate practitioners statewide.
Hauser’s engagement extends to local and historical legal organizations. He has been a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association since 1997. Since 2011 he has served on the board of the Fourth District Court of Appeal Historical Society, a group that documents and preserves the history of that court. These memberships reflect an interest in the profession’s institutions as well as in case law and procedure.
Colleagues describe Hauser as methodical in preparing appellate records and pragmatic in oral argument. He spends time parsing trial records to identify preserved issues and structuring briefs around standards of review. Argument style favors clarity and economy over rhetorical flourish.
His day-to-day work remains litigation-centered. He handles appeals for clients in state and federal courts, advises on preservation of appellate issues at trial, prepares appellate briefs and presents oral arguments. His current practice concentrates on appellate litigation at Sniffen & Spellman, P.A.
