About Robert Charles
Robert Charles Martin studied two very different subjects as an undergraduate. He earned a B.S. from Brigham Young University, majoring in psychology and English. He returned to BYU for law school and received his J.D. in 1983.
He built a legal career that spans several decades. Martin is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Utah and is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He maintains current membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar. Those admissions have allowed him to handle matters at both the trial and appellate levels.
Martin’s early years in practice drew on the analytical habits he developed in two majors. The combination of psychology and English informed how he prepares witnesses, crafts written arguments and structures oral presentations. Over time he added courtroom work to appellate filings. He has navigated state and federal procedures and is familiar with the demands of multi-jurisdiction practice.
His professional path led him to establish a small practice under his own name. The Robert C. Martin Law Office has served as his base of operations. There, he has handled a mix of casework, filings and hearings that reflect the admissions listed on his credentials. He has also worked on appeals before the Third Circuit when matters required federal appellate review.
Colleagues and opposing counsel describe Martin as methodical in his preparation. He tends to rely on careful file work and steady courtroom presentation rather than theatrical tactics. He writes plainly and argues points directly. Those traits have shaped a practice that moves between trial dockets and appellate briefs as circumstances require.
Outside the courtroom he has stayed connected to the bar through ongoing membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar. That affiliation has kept him linked to developments in state practice and to peers in that jurisdiction. He has maintained registration in multiple forums so he can represent clients in state court and in federal appeals when needed.
He currently practices from the Robert C. Martin Law Office, handling matters in state and federal courts and appeals in the Third Circuit.
