About Robert

Robert Butwinick earned his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law. He entered the legal profession after completing his studies there and built a practice centered on representing people injured in accidents. His education at Hamline provided the foundation for litigation work and handling complex insurance matters.

Early in his career he became active in professional organizations. He holds current memberships in the American Arbitration Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He also participates in the Motor Vehicle Accident Committee and is a member of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association. Those affiliations have kept him engaged with trial lawyers and dispute resolution practitioners across the state and the country.

Butwinick’s courtroom work includes traditional trials and arbitration hearings. He has taken cases through pretrial motion practice, negotiated settlements, and presented evidence before juries and arbitrators. He handles the procedural and factual tasks that trial work demands, from discovery to witness preparation. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and practical in settlement discussions.

A substantial portion of his caseload involves motor vehicle accidents. He represents clients who have suffered injuries in collisions and deals regularly with medical documentation, insurance adjusters, and causation issues. He also handles other personal injury matters where the facts and damages require careful investigation and expert input. He pursues damages for lost wages, medical expenses, and pain and suffering when those elements are present.

Outside the courtroom he engages with professional groups to stay current on arbitration rules, trial tactics, and legislative changes affecting personal injury law. His participation in committees and associations gives him access to continuing education and peer exchanges. That activity informs how he evaluates settlement offers and prepares for trial.

Butwinick practices at Butwinick Injury Law. His office represents individuals affected by vehicle collisions and other injury-causing events. He manages litigation and alternative dispute resolution for clients and works directly on case strategy, evidence gathering, and negotiation. His current practice focuses on representing injured people in motor vehicle accident and related personal injury claims.
