About Robert A.

Robert A. Prousalis began his legal training in the mid-1990s and earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1998 after starting studies in 1995. He completed a traditional course of study and entered the Massachusetts legal community at the turn of the century. His academic path placed him in one of Boston’s established law schools, where he prepared for practice in state and federal settings.

He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Those admissions enabled him to handle matters at both the trial and appellate levels when needed. By 2004 he had taken on a leadership role at his firm, becoming a partner at Prousalis & Papantonakis, PC, a position he has held for more than two decades.

Prousalis’s practice has intersected with two distinct areas of law. He maintains memberships in national organizations that serve elder law and consumer bankruptcy practitioners, indicating a steady engagement with both fields. His work reflects issues common to older clients and to individuals confronting financial distress. He appears in state court dockets and in bankruptcy proceedings, and he has handled matters that require attention to client counseling as well as formal litigation or restructuring.

Colleagues describe him as someone who balances courtroom work and client-facing tasks. He prepares pleadings, represents clients at hearings and negotiates resolutions in and out of court. His memberships in national professional groups keep him linked to developments in statutes and procedure that affect his practice areas. He follows changes in elder law policy, guardianship rules and bankruptcy practice, and he applies those changes to case strategy.

Outside of casework, Prousalis has maintained a steady presence in his community of practice. He has developed a practice that addresses both the legal needs of older clients and the practical realities faced by debtors. Long-term relationships with clients and other professionals have been a feature of his career and of the firm’s work.

He currently practices at Prousalis & Papantonakis, PC, where his work centers on elder law and consumer bankruptcy matters.
