Rivers Judson Morrell III is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1973. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Morrell is the founder and principal of the Law Firm of Rivers J. Morrell III, with offices located in Mission Viejo and Irvine, California. He has been practicing law for over 50 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.
Mr. Morrell earned his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1973. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1970. During his time at Golden Gate University, he was recognized for his academic achievements and commitment to the legal profession.
Mr. Morrell concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, including cases involving motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, unsafe property conditions, and wrongful death claims. He represents individuals and families at all stages of litigation, from initial case evaluation and discovery to mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Morrell has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Orange, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Morrell is an active member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has been selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer every year since 2007. He holds membership in the American Academy of Trial Attorneys and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. He is also a certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Morrell is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
