About Rick
Rick Piliponis earned a B.S. from the University of Tennessee College of Law before taking the formal step into the legal profession by earning his J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 1993. He completed his legal education in the early 1990s, a period that shaped his approach to practice and client service.
He has built a career practicing in Tennessee. Over the years he has handled a range of matters in state courts and offered advice on state law issues. He maintains a current membership in the Tennessee State Bar and keeps up with developments in state jurisprudence and procedure.
Piliponis brings practical judgment to routine and contested matters. He assists clients through litigation processes and counsels them on legal options, courtroom strategy and procedural requirements. His courtroom work and client counseling reflect steady attention to procedural detail and an emphasis on clear communication.
Outside courtroom appearances, he spends time preparing legal filings and researching statutory and case law to support client positions. He is comfortable working on both discrete transactional questions and on litigation that requires extended preparation. Colleagues describe him as deliberate in his case planning and direct in his client communications.
He serves at The Higgins Firm PLLC, where he practices law in Tennessee. At the firm he represents clients in state matters and continues to concentrate on the practice and interpretation of Tennessee law. His current practice focuses on serving clients in Tennessee state courts and advising on legal issues governed by Tennessee statutes and decisions.
