About Rick D

Rick D Williams earned a law degree after a long run through regional schools. He received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1993. Before that he completed an A.S. in Paralegal Administration at Reno Business College in 1989 and a B.S. in Business Marketing and Finance from the University of Nevada–Reno in 1984. The sequence shows an early grounding in business and legal support work followed by formal legal training.

Those academic steps shaped the early arc of his professional life. The paralegal credential arrived first and sits between undergraduate studies and law school. It provided a practical bridge from business studies to the study of law. He went on to McGeorge at a time when the school was expanding its offerings for students who intended to practice in the West. After finishing law school he established a practice centered in Nevada.

Over the years Williams has worked in the local legal community in roles typical for attorneys who trained in both business and paralegal disciplines. He has experience preparing and managing legal documents and navigating procedural aspects of cases. Clients and colleagues have encountered his work in filings, court papers, and transactional paperwork. He has handled matters that require an understanding of both commercial concepts and courtroom procedure.

His education gives him a particular perspective. A background in business marketing and finance informs how he reads contracts and financial statements. Training in paralegal administration reinforced the procedural side of practice. Law school added statutory and case law analysis. That combination tends to produce a lawyer who pays attention to detail and looks for practical paths to resolution.

Williams is licensed to practice in Nevada and conducts his professional activities in the state. He has maintained ties to the region where he was educated. His practice continues to draw on the mix of business, paralegal, and legal training he accumulated over more than three decades of study and work. He currently practices law in Nevada.
