About Richard

Richard Joseph earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1983. He completed his legal education at a time when courts and legislation were adapting to new economic and regulatory pressures. Those early years shaped a practical approach to practice and a preference for direct client work.

After law school he established a private practice in Texas. Over the years he built the Law Office of Richard S. Joseph, Jr., PLLC, where he has managed client matters and run the day-to-day operations of a small firm. The practice has allowed him to handle a broad range of tasks that come with operating a solo and small-firm office, from client intake and case strategy to courtroom appearances and file management.

Colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic at the bar table. His career spans several decades, a period that includes changing procedural rules, advances in electronic filing, and shifts in how courts manage cases. That span has also meant mentoring younger attorneys who arrived in practice after him and adapting to new expectations from clients and the courts.

His experience is grounded in the practical realities of running a law office. He has overseen cases from initial consultation through resolution and handled the administrative and ethical obligations that accompany private practice. He is familiar with the Texas legal environment and the procedural rhythms of state courts.

Clients who work with him encounter a lawyer accustomed to handling a full docket and a wide set of office responsibilities. His approach emphasizes clarity and candor in client conversations. He aims to set realistic expectations early and to keep clients informed as matters progress.

Outside of casework, he has remained engaged with the routines of firm management, including supervision of staff and upkeep of office systems. Those responsibilities have been a consistent part of his practice life and inform how he allocates time to cases and client communications.

He currently practices at the Law Office of Richard S. Joseph, Jr., PLLC and serves clients from his Texas office; his current practice concentrates on providing legal services through that firm.
