About Richard

Richard Freeburn earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1979. He entered the legal world at a time when the practice was changing rapidly. He has remained tied to Pennsylvania throughout his career.

After law school, Freeburn made Pennsylvania the base of his practice. He maintains a current membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar. Over the years he has sustained a steady presence in the state's legal community and kept active ties to colleagues and the institutions that govern the profession.

Freeburn’s career stretches back to the late 1970s. That span of time has given him a long view of how state law and court procedures have evolved. He has worked through several eras of reform and technological change in legal practice. Those shifts altered how lawyers prepare cases, serve clients and present arguments in court.

Rather than a single specialty noted in public records, Freeburn’s work reflects the breadth that comes from decades in practice in one jurisdiction. He has handled matters arising under Pennsylvania law and has engaged with the courts, administrative bodies and opposing counsel typical of state-level practice. His approach centers on applying legal training and experience to the issues presented by individual clients.

Outside of casework, Freeburn’s continued membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar signals an ongoing connection to the profession’s standards and resources. He has remained a figure within the state bar community, participating in the networks that support ethical practice and continuing legal education.

As of 2026 he continues to practice law in Pennsylvania, handling a range of state-law matters.
