About Richard
Richard Fairclo began his legal path after completing a Bachelor of Science in Business and Mathematics at Oregon State University in 1972. He moved on to Creighton University School of Law, earning his J.D. in 1975. Those years set the foundation for a long career in Oregon’s legal community.
Soon after graduating from law school, he was admitted to the Oregon bar in 1975. He established a private practice and has maintained continuous membership in the Oregon State Bar Association since that year. His peers elected him to serve as a Section Chair within the bar, a role that placed him in regular contact with both newer attorneys and experienced practitioners across the state.
Fairclo’s professional life has revolved around running a small law office and advising clients directly. Over the decades he has worked through the practical parts of practice: client intake, case management, negotiation and courtroom appearances when matters required them. The details of individual cases are matters of record in court files, but his steady presence in private practice is a throughline in his career.
Within the bar association he moved into leadership on content that matters to working lawyers. Serving as a Section Chair required organizing meetings, shepherding discussions on practice issues and contributing to educational programs. That role kept him engaged with changes to state rules and with the community of lawyers in Oregon.
Today he operates the Law Office of Richard Fairclo. He continues to handle a range of matters for local clients and to manage the day-to-day operations of a solo practice. He remains an active member of the Oregon State Bar Association and participates in the professional networks he has been part of since 1975. His current practice focuses on providing legal services directly through his office.
