About Richard Allaye Chan
Richard Allaye Chan Jr. is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in both California and Nevada. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1995 and to the Nevada State Bar in 1998. Mr. Chan is the founder and principal attorney at Allaye Chan Law, a law firm located in Sacramento, California. He has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout the Sacramento area and surrounding regions.
Mr. Chan earned his Juris Doctor degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 1994. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of the Pacific, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989. During his time at McGeorge School of Law, he gained practical experience through various internships and clerkships, preparing him for his future legal career.
Mr. Chan concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense and DUI/DWI cases. He represents individuals charged with a wide range of offenses, including drug crimes, theft, assault, and other serious criminal charges. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, pre-trial motions, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chan has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He has also appeared before the Nevada state courts. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Sacramento for several years, gaining extensive experience in criminal law.
Mr. Chan is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the Nevada State Bar Association. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Chan is fluent in English, Russian, and Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
