About Richard Alan
Richard Alan Jaffe built his legal foundation at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1981, majoring in sociology and minoring in psychology. He went on to Tulane University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1985. Those years shaped his approach to client work — careful, evidence-oriented and grounded in human behavior as well as the law.
He began his legal career as an associate in 1986 at Margolis Edlestein. That early period exposed him to courtroom routines and the day-to-day decisions that affect injured workers. In 1994 he opened his own practice, the Law Offices of Richard A Jaffe, LLC, and has run the firm since. He has navigated claims, administrative hearings and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients over three decades in practice.
Mr. Jaffe practices in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He maintains membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and participates in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has authorized that section to recognize specialists in the field. Mr. Jaffe is certified as a Specialist in the Practice of Workers’ Compensation Law through that program, a credential that signifies a focused credentialing process within the state bar structure.
Colleagues and file histories reflect a steady emphasis on workers’ compensation matters. He handles claims arising from workplace injuries, attends administrative proceedings, and works through medical and vocational evidence. He has experience assessing medical reports, preparing testimony and negotiating settlements. His training in sociology and psychology informs how he prepares witness accounts and evaluates how injury and recovery affect daily life and work capacity.
