About Richard A.

Richard A. Langer built his legal foundation in the classroom and in libraries. He earned a B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1967, followed by a J.D. from Albany Law School in 1971. He returned to graduate study at New York University School of Law and completed an LL.M. in 1975. Those academic stops placed him among the generations of lawyers trained in New York’s law schools during a period of change and expansion in the profession.

Langer began practicing law in 1971 when he joined McNamee Lochner P.C. He established himself as a working member of a midsize firm, handling matters for clients across the state. The entry into private practice came at the same time he became a member of the bar in New York, linking his academic credentials to a career in active practice.

In 1975 he added teaching to his professional life, serving as an adjunct professor of law at Albany Law School. The role brought him back to the campus where he had completed his J.D. and allowed him to share courtroom experience and doctrinal knowledge with students. He has maintained ties to the legal community beyond the classroom. He holds membership in the New York City Bar Association, a professional network that has long provided forums for continuing education and professional exchange.

Over the decades Langer’s work has remained rooted in New York practice. He has combined private practice at McNamee Lochner with occasional academic engagement. That mix is familiar among lawyers who move between courtroom work, counseling clients, and teaching. Colleagues and students have encountered him in firm conference rooms and in seminar settings, where the practical and the theoretical intersect.

He remains associated with McNamee Lochner P.C. and continues to practice under New York jurisdiction. His current practice addresses legal matters brought to the firm, and he works on those matters in the context of the firm’s wider practice in the state of New York.
