About Rich J.
Rich J. Peters graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing in 1989 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1992. He moved from business studies into law at the start of the 1990s and established a private practice the same year he completed law school. Those academic years set the groundwork for a career spent largely in Arizona courts and in work that touches on family and dispute resolution.
Peters opened the Law Office of Rich J. Peters in 1992. He spent the mid-1990s and early 2000s in a series of associate roles at several Phoenix-area firms, including John T. Fields & Associates in 1996, Bellah and Harrian in 1998, and Jon C. Dake and Associates, P.C. in 2000. In 2005 he founded R.J. Peters & Assoc., P.C., returning to firm ownership after more than a decade of both solo and associate practice. In 2007 he served as Judge Pro Tem for the Maricopa County Superior Court, a temporary judicial role that placed him on the bench for specific matters and hearings.
Over three decades Peters has balanced courtroom appearances, client counseling and processes outside the courtroom. He maintains memberships in the W.B. Putman American Inn of Court and the Maricopa County Bar Association. Since 2019 he has been a member of both the Arizona Association for Conflict Resolution and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. Those affiliations reflect ongoing interest in methods that resolve disputes without prolonged litigation.
Colleagues describe Peters as a lawyer who has combined private practice with occasional judicial duties and professional association work. His record shows steady involvement in the local legal community, from bar association activities to participation in groups that focus on family issues and conflict resolution. The Judge Pro Tem role added a judicial perspective to his practice, allowing him to handle hearings and procedural matters from the bench on a temporary basis.
Today Peters practices through R.J. Peters & Assoc., P.C., in Arizona. He continues to handle cases that arise in family law and related civil matters, and he uses dispute-resolution processes alongside traditional litigation tools. He practices in Arizona and concentrates on family law and dispute resolution matters in his current work.
