About Reuben

Reuben Schutz built his legal foundation in the Pacific Northwest. He earned a B.A. from the University of Washington before completing his J.D. at Seattle University School of Law. Those years shaped his approach to practice: practical, detail-oriented and anchored in the law of Washington.

He began his career after law school in roles that exposed him to courtroom work and client counseling. Over time he joined Gordon Thomas Honeywell LLP, where he rose to the role of Senior Associate. In that position he has taken on a mix of responsibilities that include case preparation, motion practice and client advisement. Colleagues describe him as someone who prepares thoroughly and addresses issues directly.

Schutz is licensed to practice in Washington and maintains memberships in the Washington State Bar Association and the Pierce County Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him connected to developments in state law and to local court practices. He regularly engages with peers through bar activities and local professional events.

At the firm he works on matters that require both litigation skills and practical legal judgment. His work involves drafting pleadings, conducting discovery and arguing motions. He handles filings in state courts and participates in strategy sessions with clients and co-counsel. The role calls for steady case management and responsiveness to deadlines, and those are areas he emphasizes in daily practice.

Outside of direct casework, Schutz contributes to the firm’s efforts to serve clients across a range of legal needs. He assists senior attorneys in complex matters and takes primary responsibility on cases where he serves as lead counsel. The combination of trial work and client counseling has given him steady exposure to the procedural and tactical demands of contested matters in Washington.

He remains based at Gordon Thomas Honeywell LLP and continues to practice in the state of Washington. He now focuses his practice at Gordon Thomas Honeywell LLP, representing clients in matters across Washington.
